I just realized that today is exactly one year from when I wrote my first blog, God Mode. Happy birthday, Κέλσος!
For the upcoming year I will be blogging more about Classical, Greco-Roman, and Pagan antiquity. This will help me balance my time with graduate work and writing the contents of this blog, as I will be merging other aspects of my academic work with Κέλσος. I hope to help make the broader ancient Mediterranean world more interesting and available to a public audience.
Likewise, in other good news, I am teaching two discussion sections about the Early Roman Republic this quarter at UC Irvine. Next quarter I will also be teaching discussion sections about the Roman Empire from the time onward from Augustus. When interesting issues come up in class, I may blog about them here.
Thanks to everyone who has been reading for the past year and to people who have started reading the blog more recently!
