Well, as of today I have entered into my late twenties. Twenty-six years ago today I was born in Ridgecrest, CA. Interesting enough, today is also the anniversary of when my family left a religious cult in Trona, CA. On my tenth birthday, September 18, 1997, we left a Christian community, in which I was raised in a private “school” taught out of a church member’s living room. There we were educated through the ACE/PACE booklet curriculum (I need to get my hands on one of their “Science” booklets for a few laughs, since I recall even as a kid not believing the nonsense they taught in those things).
Fortunately, we moved to a secular community when I turned ten, and within only a few years I quickly grasped the absurdity, intellectual bankruptcy, and sheer ugliness of the Christian religion I was raised in. I became atheist at around age thirteen and have enjoyed about half of my life now as a free thinker. These last years have been much better than the earlier ones!
Anyways, another birthday marking another year in life. If anyone feels inclined to give a birthday present, you can make a contribution of any size to the medical donations for my esophageal ulcer treatment. Dies natalis sit felix!
